Museum of Jersey City History frequently cooperates with the History Committee of the Journal Square Community Association (JSQCA). This Committee has just received a grant from the Hudson County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs/Tourism Development to present a series of talks and small exhibitions on Jersey City’s many different communities: this will be a multi-year effort. The MJCH will work closely with the JSAQCA on developing the talks and exhibits and they will take place (and be initially exhibited) at the Apple Tree House. This year, the focus will be on the Filipino, Indian, Puerto Rican and Black communities and how they developed in Jersey City. Specific events will be announced in this web site.
Jerome Choice, member of the Board of the Museum of Jersey City History, comments on Hudson County's Immigrant community, in the below excerpt from:
“We are a nation of immigrants and diversity is one of the strengths of this country,” said Jerome Choice, a long-time Jersey City resident and local historian serving as a board member at the Museum of Jersey City on 298 Academy Street at The Apple Tree House.

Choice walked Slice of Culture through the museum as he pointed to the historical landmarks of the early sites of the Lafayette district. He grew up surrounded by Polish and Hispanic communities, in a city teeming with what Choice described as a “mosaic of immigrants that make up Hudson County and throughout the country.”
